Newberry County is a place rich with history and tradition.
We invite you to share our stories and explore our history
through the exhibits at the Newberry County Museum.

Our summer meeting will be held on Sunday, June 26th at 3:00pm.

Members of the Society will visit the historic Kibler Cabin.
The Kibler Cabin is one of the oldest structures still standing in Newberry County.
Currently owned by the Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation, the site will
be hosted by its Executive director, Michael Bedenbaugh.

The structure is an un-restored cabin and is located in a rural site. It is advisable to
dress accordingly, with sensible shoes and clothes suitable for climbing the narrow
stairway to see the historic wallpaper upstairs.

The cabin is small. Members will be led in small groups. Please bring a lawn chair,
so you can be comfortable and socialize while others visit the interior.
Carpooling is strongly encouraged due to limited parking at site. To carpool, meet at
Courthouse parking lot off College St.  We will depart at 2:30 sharp!

Additional information about the cabin can be found here:
